Accessibility Statement

We are committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience. To do so, we are actively working with consultants to update the website by increasing its accessibility and usability by persons who use assistive technologies such as automated tools, keyboard-only navigation, and screen readers.

We are working to have the website conform to the relevant standards of the Section 508 Web Accessibility Standards developed by the United States Access Board, as well as the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1. These standards and guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities. We believe that conformance with these standards and guidelines will help make the website more user friendly for all people.

Our efforts are ongoing. While we strive to have the website adhere to these guidelines and standards, it is not always possible to do so in all areas of the website. If, at any time, you have specific questions or concerns about the accessibility of any particular webpage, please contact so that we may be of assistance.

Thank you. We hope you enjoy using our website.

Finding a Primary Care Physician

Choosing the right doctor for you and your family may be one of the most important decisions you make. That’s why it’s best to invest time to finding doctors that best meet your healthcare needs, especially if you have a condition that requires the attention of several physicians.

Like many residential communities in the southern Beaufort County, the medical community continues to grow with an influx of doctors, nurse practitioners and other providers. Residents new to the area look for doctors to whom they can transfer their care. You may need to choose a new doctor if your current one stops participating in your health insurance plan or no longer satisfies your particular needs. “Whatever the case, it’s wise to explore your options. You may get a referral from a friend, family member or even another doctor,” said Dr. Robert Bernasek, chief medical officer for Hilton Head Regional Healthcare.  “It’s important to have a primary doctor who can oversee your overall health, and he or she may be able to guide you to the right specialists for advanced care of your specific condition.”

Hilton Head Regional Healthare provides free physician referrals. By calling (800) 984-9810, you can learn the following about a provider:

  • Specialty
  • Education
  • Training
  • Insurances Accepted
  • Location
  • Board Certifications
