Monee' Wells, Office Coordinator of Bluffton Medical Campus, Hilton Head Hospital

wells-monee-hhh-2015Monee' Wells was returning to the workforce after a long sabbatical when she first interviewed at Hilton Head Hospital in 2007.

“I was a stay-at-home mom for 14 years,” she says. “As you can imagine getting back into the workforce was a bit challenging. They actually took a chance on me.”

Starting out as a file room clerk, Monee' proved her mettle and was eventually promoted to Office Coordinator at Bluffton Medical Campus. It was a challenge that she happily accepted.

“One of the main things that I wanted when I interviewed for a position was to be somewhere with the opportunity for career growth,” she says.

Monee' provides support over a wide array of administrative tasks, which makes her a dependable resource as patients navigate the complexities of modern health care.

“We are responsible for a lot of the billing and scheduling,” she says. “Basically we want to make sure that patients are happy while also supporting the staff.”

By easing the doubts and concerns of patients, Monee' puts them in a more positive frame of mind that can benefit their overall health.

“Empathy helps a lot,” she says. “When you’re sick, uncomfortable and not feeling well, the last thing you want to do is worry about bills or appointments. My favorite part of the job is getting the opportunity to work directly with the patient. It’s rewarding to make things better for them and facilitate the process of fixing the problem.”

At Hilton Head Hospital, patients are given a comfortable and welcoming

experience that leads to improved results. Every day Monee' looks forward to working alongside her peers in a collaborative environment.

“The minute that patients walk through the doors, they can identify and realize that there’s a building full of people who are invested in making them feel better,” she says. “Once you show them that you’re on their side, it’s a lot easier to help them. We have a great group of people to provide the best patient care.”
