Hilton Head Hospital Recognizes Rebecca Lowe for Nursing Excellence
Jun 2, 2021
Hilton Head, S.C.– Hilton Head Hospital is proud to announce Rebecca Lowe as the hospital’s latest Daisy RN Award for Extraordinary Nurses Recipient!
Rowe began her nursing career at Hilton Head Hospital in July 2018. She currently serves as a nurse in the Intensive Care Unit.
Rowe was nominated for the award by the sister of a recent patient. The nomination reads, in part: “Rebecca went above and beyond expectations. She skillfully, and with sincere and genuine compassion, led us through the devastating loss of life for a dear family member. Even though it was Easter, Rebecca stayed through shift change to help us through the tragic loss of our sister. As long as I live, I will never forget Rebecca, what she did for my sister-in-law and brother and how much we came to rely on her compassion. When I told Rebecca she was an angel, she continually said ‘this is a team’. Rebecca is a shining start to Hilton Head Island and, God-willing, she will be there for a very long time so all in the community can benefit from her skill and compassion. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to acknowledge Rebecca’s efforts and service.”
The Daisy Award was established by the family of J. Patrick Barnes, a cancer patient who lost his battle after a brief period of time. The family was so impressed with the care and compassion the staff showed Patrick, they stated a foundation to have a way to honor nurses who demonstrate clinical excellence in a caring and compassionate manor.
