Volunteers play an important part in the community here at Hilton Head Hospital. They offer support to our patients, lend helping hands and compassionate ears to visitors, and help staff with tasks to help our hospital run smoothly.
At our outpatient facilities in Bluffton, as well as Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital, volunteers add value to our health care services. Opportunities to volunteer are found in numerous areas:
- Auxiliary: Board & Committees, Fundraising, Special Projects
- Auxiliary Gift Shops
- Emergency Department
- Food & Nutrition
- Greeter / Information Desk / Patient Reception
- Inpatient Departments
- Outpatient Departments
- Patient Relations
- Radiology / Imaging
- Surgery Family Waiting Rooms
- Trolley (campus transport)
Volunteers typically serve 3-5 hour shifts per week, with some availability for evening and weekend hours. Knowing the changing needs of volunteers, we strive to be flexible and work closely with individuals' schedules.
