Joel C. Taylor

Market Chief Operating Officer & Chief Executive Officer, Coastal Carolina Hospital

Joel C. Taylor joined Hilton Head Regional Healthcare as chief executive officer of Coastal Carolina Hospital in September 2016. As CEO, he oversees strategic, operational and clinical activities for the 41 bed hospital.

In addition to his CEO responsibilities at Coastal Carolina Hospital, Taylor was appointed as market chief operating officer in April 2018, with operational responsibilities at both Hilton Head Hospital and Coastal Carolina Hospital.

Previously, he served as CEO of Citizens Baptist Medical Center, a 122 bed acute care facility in Talladega, Alabama. Prior to his role at Citizens, Taylor served as CEO of White County Community Hospital in Sparta, Tennessee.

Taylor holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Birmingham-Southern College and master’s degrees in business and health administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
