Bruce Redler, M.D., has been selected as Hilton Head Regional Medical Center’s physician advisor, which is a newly created position. Dr. Redler, 49, will collaborate with the medical center’s clinical case managers and physicians to improve patient care. He will interact with payers to help resolve reimbursement issues. In his role as physician advisor, Dr. Redler will work closely with hospital administration and clinical committees to develop clinical practice guidelines that are designed to help the medical center’s staff provide high quality patient care.
Dr. Redler will be an integral part of the medical center’s Commitment to Quality initiative. He will represent the medical center at regional and national meetings of the initiative’s collaborative study groups.
Dr. Redler, a resident of Hilton Head since 1984, earned both his bachelor of science degree in medicine and a medical degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. He completed a residency at Barnes Hospital, Washington University. He was on the active medical staff at Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics from 1984 to 1999.
During that time, he was medical chief of staff from 1996 to 1998 and was on the medical center’s governing board for four years. For the past three years he has been serving as a consultant with Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys.
