Hilton Head Island, SC -September 13, 2005 - Erik W. Olson, of Philadelphia, Pa., has been named the new Chief Operating Officer for Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, effective October 3, 2005.
“Mr. Olson brings a wealth of healthcare management experience that will be key in helping our medical center grow and serve the Hilton Head Island and Bluffton communities. We are very happy to have Erik joining our administrative team,” said Elizabeth Lamkin, president and chief executive officer.
At Hilton Head Regional Medical Center, he will help to oversee hospital operations.
Most recently, he was chief operating officer of Roxborough Memorial Hospital, a 137-bed acute care hospital in Philadelphia. Prior to that, he was director of operations of Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, and an administrative fellow at Hahnemann, a 450-bed tertiary hospital.
Olson earned a bachelor’s of science degree in healthcare administration in 1998 from the University of Wisconsin and a master’s degree in healthcare administration in 2000 from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. He was also a sergeant with the Wisconsin Army National Guard where he was responsible for soldier training and development.
