| MRI Services Earns Accreditation by ACR |

Hilton Head Regional Medical Center’s MRI Services was recently surveyed by the American College of Radiology’s Committee for MRI Accreditation. The Commission on Quality and Safety and has granted a three-year term of accreditation to the Medical Center’s MRI Services.
“This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to quality patient care,” said Jane Ouimette, director imaging services at Hilton Head Regional. The accreditation program is designed to be educational in nature, and it evaluates qualifications of personnel, equipment performance, effectiveness of quality control measures, and quality of clinical images. “It is believed that these are the primary factors that impact the quality of clinical images and the quality of patient care,” said Ouimette.
Hilton Head Regional Medical Center offers a full range of the MRI services including radiology techniques to produce highly detailed images of the body including; Cardiac, Vascular, Breast (including breast biopsies), Neuro, and Orthopedic images.
The American College of Radiology awards accreditation to facilities for the achievement of high practice standards after a peer-review evaluation of the practice. Evaluations are conducted by board-certified physicians and medical physicists who are experts in their field. |
